Hanging of the Greens!

St. John's is ready for Advent! Thanks to the MANY helpers who gathered Sunday afternoon, the church looks very festive. About 30 folks helped decorate -- things happened quickly! When all was finished, we sat down together for a wonderful lunch! Thank you all!

Lutheran World Relief In-Gathering

The boxes of health kits, school kits, sewing kits, and quilts keep coming! The week of filling the trailer is half over and many surrounding churches have made the trip to Norfolk to add to the shipment. Thank you to Pat & Warren Monson who make sure there is someone available to help with the loading and to offer a cup of coffee and a treat! Not only is St. John's blessed, we pray also that the items being collected by Lutheran World Relief find their way to the hands of those who need them most.

Special Congregational Meeting

A special Congregational Meeting is set for Sunday, November 13, at 9:45 AM. To address a staffing need, the Church Council is recommending that the congregation approve the appointment of a call committee for the purpose of calling a part-time assistant pastor and that a plan for funding this position be created. A forum to discuss this matter will be held Sunday, November 6, at 9:45 AM in the sanctuary. Please plan on attending these very important meetings.

Sullivan Family Benefit

The Sullivan Family Benefit is this Sunday, November 6, beginning at St. John's with a breakfast at 9:45 AM in the Fellowship Hall. The silent auction baskets will be on display Saturday evening through breakfast. For lunch, the fundraiser moves to the VFW on 4th St. and Braasch Ave. Lunch will be served from 11 AM -- 2:30 PM. All proceeds will go directly to the Sullivan family.
